GameDay A.M. Roar

Kenny Rogers takes the mound for the Tigers today at 1:05 p.m. ET against the Royals. Kansas City will send Brian Bannister to the mound to try and steal another game in Detroit. The Tigers have not started a season 0-2 since 2003. The Gambler surprisingly hasn't had a lot of success against the Royals; eight of the 13 runs he gave up at home last year were against K.C. Rogers has also struggled mightily against Mark Grudzielanek, who is 11-17 with 7 RBIs off Kenny in his career. The forecast is sunny and in the low 40s in Detroit today.

Chip Mundy gives us some insight on the Royals starting pitcher today, Brian Bannister.

Jon Paul Morosi of the Free Press goes deep into our bullpen. Some great quotes from Todd Jones in this one. Morosi also has a writeup of our minor league rosters.

Buster Olney of ESPN says what we all know as Tigers fans: it's not easy to fix your bullpen.

Lynn Henning of the Detroit News has a lighter take on Opening Day's ballgame.
